In conjunction with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), Prism Defence completed a successful First of Class Flight Trial on September 12, 2017. The New Zealand Defence Force contracted Prism to undertake the trial with the RNZAF Seasprite helicopter aboard HMNZS Wellington.
The objective of the trial was to expand safe operating limits to support day and night operations for the aircraft. A wide range of relative wind conditions were encountered which enabled thorough exploration of the aircraft’s low-speed envelope within the ship environment. All objectives of the FOCFT were met throughout the course of the 16-day trial.
