Prism Defence’s HeliSAFE software was Highly Commended in the Defence and Civil SME Innovation Grant category at the inaugural Maritime Australia Industry Innovation Awards, held in October 2017. The awards, announced at the PACIFIC 2017 International Maritime Exposition in Sydney, recognise and reward Australian companies and individuals at the forefront of naval and maritime innovation.

In a press release published by the exposition, CEO of Pacific 2017, Mr Ian Honnery commented on the standard of entries for the 2017 awards, “They were so competitive that for the first time the judges recommended that two entrants should receive High Commendations in their categories…That tells you something about the strength of innovation activity in the naval and marine sectors here in Australia.”

“Innovation isn’t just about having good ideas – it’s about putting good ideas to use. These innovators are trying to be game changers in their markets and we are delighted to be able to recognise their contributions and be a part of their journey,” Mr Honnery said.

Prism Defence was the sole South Australian company to be nominated and acknowledged in the 2017 awards. Other award recipients included; Thales Australia, Ocius Technology, AMOG Technologies and Nauti-Craft.
