In April 2018, Prism Defence Business Development Manager, Mr Rick Wellesley represented Prism Defence at Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2018 in Malaysia. We were one of 27 Australian companies exhibiting as part of the Team Defence Australia (TDA) delegation, the largest delegation TDA has taken to this show.

The extent of the delegation is reflective of TDA’s drive to boost Australia’s defence industry export potential in alignment with the strategic goals of the Australian government’s recently released Defence Export Strategy.

Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne, welcomed TDA delegates to DSA by acknowledging their support for the growth of the Australian defence industry and the importance of export.

Minister Pyne said to Defence Connect magazine, ” the soon to be launched Australian Defence Export Office, an initiative of the Defence Export Strategy, will deliver a suite of new initiatives to help Australian companies become export ready, expand their businesses and achieve export success.”

Speaking from the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Rick said, “participating in DSA, with the support of TDA is a very valuable opportunity for Prism. We are focused on continuing to strengthen export opportunities by working with fellow SMEs, primes and international defence to provide assured, comprehensive and provable ship–helicopter operating limits (SHOL) that build capability and enable the safe and effective operation of helicopters and UAS at sea.”

Rick took the opportunity to provide Minister Pyne with an update on Prism’s export activity and an introduction to HeliSAFE.
